A famous poet once said: ‘Tired of London, tired of life’. There’s no place in the world with such a creative buzz as the UK capital. That makes London the ideal place for hotspotting. Where to eat, where to sleep, where to shop? Londonista An Bogaerts leads the way.

The Wigmore

Regent Street

What? A traditional British pub in the fancy Langham Hotel right in the heart of London. The bling of the hotel rubs off on this adjoined venue so the word ‘pub’ doesn’t even start to describe The Wigmore. The same goes for the food. The menu introduces deluxe pub food. Cheeseburger with grilled ox-tongue and crispy shallots,  braised beef and ox tongue pie with mash and homemade and the hot fudge sundae, a rich dessert topped with salted popcorn. The mastermind behind al those dishes is star chef Michel Roux jr. You might know him from the BBC series Masterchef. Or from his London two star restaurant Le Gavroche, if your are lucky.

Looks? The predominantly green interior of The Wigmore was designed by the studio of Martin Brudnizki. The same studio that designed the eccentric decor of Sexy Fish. Apart from the bold colour on the walls the beautiful made-to-measure lighting fixtures tend to mesmerize visitors.

What else? The decor is beautiful, the food delicious but above all the location of this luxurious pub is the big bonus of this hotspot. Only a few steps away from Regent Street, The Wigmore is the ideal place for lunch on a day of London shopping.
